Contact Mics & Hydrophones

Recently at the Café OTO Christmas Fair I sold some simple contact mics that i've been making. I'd like to carry on doing this so if you're interested in buying one please contact me at malvernbrume@gmail.com. I will be making them to order so i'm happy to take on any requirements and make them to fit your needs. Look below for a cost break down and some more info on what to think about when ordering. Excuse the dodgy picture, will replace soon

At the moment, as i'm not too sure how many people will be interested i'm going to be making these to order. There for components may be slightly more expensive. Once I know enough people are interested i'll start buying in bulk.

- Neutrik TRS Jack connector £5.50 (various colour options)
- Piezo Element x2 £3.80
- 2m Thin Van Damme Pro Microphone Cable £3.82 (various colour options)
- Building Materials (Glue, Plastidip, Solder etc) £1.50
- Labour Cost £5.38

Total: £20 + Shipping

If you need a different connector (ie mini jack for some hand held recorders) let me know and if you would like your cable to a specific length i'm also happy to do that. However, it may effect the cost slightly.

I use a very simple and widely used technique for making these so if anyone would rather make them on their own but is not sure how, please feel free to email me and i'll happily chat about it.

I you can also use Hosa adapters with these mics, which I would  recommend for a better signal/sound. Available here for £20: https://www.gear4music.com/PA-DJ-and-Lighting/Hosa-Impedance-Transformer-1-4-in-TSF-to-XLR3M/38AQ?origin=product-ads&gclid=CjwKCAiAzrWOBhBjEiwAq85QZ7FrrFcWy4JbRYQ1_QZpQZ9LsQBtljrUNJbwccdyWwTsWrygCenEVBoCx7MQAvD_BwE

I also have a design for a Piezo based Hydrophone that I'm pretty happy with (NO BOTTLE CAPS USED) please feel to get in touch about that if you're interested. However, i'm still testing these and the materials i've been using are a bit harder to source.
